Kimberly Heckler is the daughter-in-law of Margaret Heckler. She earned a Bachelor’s degree from Pacific Union College in Angwin, CA. An active participant in her community, Kimberly served as president of the Northern Virginia Alliance League and is president of the Lyon Village Women’s Club.

equality and justice to all was her life work. She was a woman of firsts, clearing the way for others to follow.
The inspiration for writing this book came from time spent over the past 30 years with Margaret Heckler, hearing stories during Sunday night dinners and learning how Margaret used her compassionate drive to improve the lives of millions of Americans of all races, creed, color, and sex. Kim has accumulated hundreds of stories with over 130 interviews about her mother-in-law that she believes should be shared with the public. Margaret Heckler was a groundbreaking woman for our time.
Kim is a member of The Authors Guild and the Library of Congress Women’s History and Gender Studies Group. She s the mother of three children. She lives in Arlington, Virginia with her husband, John.
