Deborah Swiss
An internationally recognized author, Deborah J. Swiss has appeared on The Today Show, NPR radio, and ABC radio Australia. Her work has been featured in The New York Times, National Geographic Australia, Time, Fortune, The Wall Street Journal, Harvard Business Review, and The Federal Glass Ceiling Commission Report. Deborah’s fourth non-fiction book, The Tin Ticket: The Heroic Journey of Australia’s Convict Women (Berkley, 2011) brought hundreds of speaking engagements across the United States, Australia,
Ireland, New Zealand, and Iceland. The Tin Ticket is currently optioned for development of a television series by the Australian Midnight Madhouse Productions. Deborah moved to Cape Cod 10 years ago and believes that this is the perfect place to write her next book, Stolen Canyon: The Race to Own the Grand Canyon and the Betrayal of Indigenous People of the West (University of Utah Press), spring 2026. Deborah holds her BA in English magna cum laude from Bowdoin College and her EdD from Harvard University, with a concentration in social policy.
